I AM SORRY 2 (THE NBN SCANDAL)

The first I AM SORRY was about the Hello Garci scandal. Then GMA, parading a look of a Holy Week penitent, faced the nation to say sorry for calling an election commissioner.

She admit her mistake and called it lapse of judgment. Now in 2008, GMA in an apparent attempt to douse cold water to the simmering anger of the people in her new involvement in another and more grave scandal tried to win the public again by portraying an image of innocent. Well this time she did not say that it was lapse in judgment. Instead she used diplomatic reasons why she had to sign the contract despite knowing its defects. “I don’t want to embarrass China” her latest alibis is far from impressive. Its shallow and unconvincing. Well, aside from admitting it, it shows the kind of leader GMA is, who is more than willing to sacrifice the interest of the Filipino over God-Knows-What agenda of her and her cohorts.

Her strategists got it all wrong that admitting this “lapse” can help contain indignation and restore her a semblance of credibility. They say GMA is the luckiest bitch around. But lately it seems her luck has run out. Why does her strategists gave her that kind of advice without taking into account the previous statements of government officials who appeared before the Senate. She made ASEC Formoso a liar! Asec Formoso repeatedly insist in his testimonies that the NBN ZTE deal is aboveboard. Whatever it is, the bungled handling of the issue already tells the public that something is not right inside Malacanang right now.
