More village chiefs leaving PaDayon

More village chiefs are seen to leave the party founded by Vice Mayor Emano soon without any of his political enemies lifting a finger. Gusa Barangay Chairperson Enrico Salcedo said yesterday.
Salcedo, the official who first revealed the supposed decision of 27 barangay chairpersons to severe ties with the city’s dominant party said many village chiefs have sent feelers that, like him, they were also fed up with Emano’s alleged boorishness.
He said the feelers were sent to him and the other barangay chairpersons who earlier decided to leave PaDayon Pilipino. Salcedo, said the first batch of barangay chairpersons who joined anti Emano forces also received feelers from their fellow village chiefs who shared feelings of resentment toward the PaDayon Pilipino leader. Salcedo said the first 27 barangay chairpersons who decided to bolt out from PaDayon Pilipino made a stand without any Emano’s known political enemies lifting a finger.
They left the party on their own. Note that the big politicians in the city kept their distance and did not influence the barangay chairpersons in their decisions. What do you think will happen when these politicians start moving? asked Salcedo rhetorically.
This writer received a call from a barangay chairperson who claimed that he was aware that seven village chiefs from the city’s 2nd district were fed up with the way Emano has been dealing with them.
“If barangay captains like Eric Salcedo, who had close ties with Emano, could not take it anymore, how much more of us who are really not that close to him (Emano)? said the barangay chairperson who spoke on condition of anonymity. “Samot na kami nga dili doul sa luwag.”
Emano’s ally, Councilor Alexander Dacer claimed that Padayon Pilipino remained strong. “We will know more about this in the last days (before the elections), said Dacer, a former president of the influential Association of Barangay Councils (ABC).
Only 4 village chiefs leaving Dongkoy’s party
Councilor Alexander Dacer has debunked Gusa barangay chairperson Eric Salcedo’s claim that 27 barangay chairpersons decided to bolt from the ruling PaDayon Pilipino in protest of the supposed rudeness of its leader, Vice Mayor Vicente “Dongkoy” Emano. But Dacer admitted that the loyalty of the Padayon Pilipino barangay chairpersons in the 1st District was under question. Dacer, a former President of the local Association of Barangay Councils here said this to deny Salcedo’s claim that 12 barangay chairpersons from the 1st District and 15 others from the 2nd District have defected from the party founded and led by Emano.
Dacer said one of the barangay chairpersons is Salcedo who was recently named pointman for barangay affairs by 1st District Rep. Rolando Uy. “Some of them are seriously contemplating on leaving the party. But they never really considered party members in the first place,” said Dacer.
He identified the other village chiefs as Melenio Minister of Besigan, Agustin Bagongon of Mambuaya, Benedicto Fabricante of Patag and Marlyn Lagumen of Canitoan. “Some of them are still actually weighing their options while the others are just feeling bad or were slighted over some matters.” he said.
Dacer said he was optimistic most of the barangay chairpersons would remain with Padayon Pilipino. “I vow not to run for councilor if they leave the party.” he said. (Lizanilla Amarga)
3 councilors leaving Dongkoy, says Abaday
Three key members of the PaDayon Pilipino are planning to join over two dozen barangay chairpersons who have decided to sever ties with Vice Mayor Vicente Emano’s party, revealed Councilor Roger Abaday. Abaday said the three are city councilors.
The revelation came even as 1st District Rep. Rolando Uy strongly denied Emano’s claim that the congressman would try to talk to a fourth councilor, Alexander Dacer, to bolt from the party.
Emano told DXIF Bombo Radyo that Uy’s group would attempt to convince Dacer to join the local opposition following the defection from the PaDayon Pilipino of Gusa barangay chairperson Enrico Salcedo. It was Salcedo who first revealed that 27 barangay chairpersons have decided to sever ties with the Padayon Pilipino in protest of Emano’s alleged boorishness, a claim that was denied by the vice mayor and his supporters.
Abaday, a former barangay chairperson of Kauswagan, revealed that local opposition leaders and the three PaDayon Pilipino have started meetings. “There were initial talks. What I know is that they are merely waiting for the proper time to announce that they are leaving the party,” said Abaday. He declined to give a name, adding that he did not want to preempt the move of the three councilors.
Councilor Teodulfo Lao and Salcedo confirmed that three PaDayon Pilipino councilors were preparing to joint the local opposition. Lao said two of the councilors were joining the local opposition for sure. He said negotiations were still ongoing with a 3rd councilor.
“Expect more councilors and barangay chairpersons to join the local opposition. Many of them are already sick and tired of Dongkoy.”
said Councilor Zaldy Ocon.
Former Councilor Edgar Cabanlas who used to be a member of Emano’s inner circle said the local opposition should start efforts at unifying groups opposed to Emano’s group for the common good.
